I\u2019ve never had the opportunity to listen to tubes outside of trade shows. My current amp is the Devialet D Premier. Good stuff but\u2026..<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I listened for 10 hours with an audiophile friend who has serious tube experience. Neither of us wanted to stop. The last two hours were Diana Krall Live in Paris \u2014 I have seen her perform live at least six times and I can tell you honestly, it was live to me last night. What struck me most was the cymbals. Real, in the room, hanging in the air the way they do at a live performance. The piano bloom was extraordinary. Trumpet texture I have never heard from any system. The 3D imagery placed every instrument in its own space. And after 10 hours \u2014 no fatigue. None. It sounds real and now I understand when they say the amp just disappears leaving only the performance. It\u2019s also pretty forgiving of program material. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Your description \u2014 lush, romantic, seductive \u2014 was precise. You knew exactly what you had and you were honest about it throughout our entire conversation.<\/strong> These amps found the right home. Currently with the Zu Druid V but going to be taken to Tennessee at the cabin where I have Zu Definition IV\u2019s. The perfect fit. They clipped a bit with heavy bass on the Druids. The Defs are 101 db sensitive. I\u2019ll keep you updated on that as well. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
